The Sweetest Sin, Liv.S

The rain it falls without a care
catching you and I quite unaware.
Ever so softly and delicately light,
twinkling on our skin it’s pure delight.
From the sun it is a pleasant relief
but we run to some shelter, leaves under bare feet.

Beneath a canopy of branches, hiding from the weather
you and I huddle close, put our heads together.
I can feel you there, the beat in your chest
telling me you’re scared; but we know it’s for the best.
I know that you can feel it too,
all this magic between me and you.

And as you lift your hand up to my cheek,
gazing into your eyes my knees go weak.
We look into each other’s souls seeing every hope and fear
with these widened eyes mingled with rain and tears.
Alone, we are, except for the birds that see
from their homes up above; they sing for you and me.

But that doesn’t stop you from leaning right in,
pressing your soft lips to mine, it is the sweetest of sins.
Our hearts they beat together as one;
And who cares what they think, it is us, we’re in love.
The sun shower is over and the rain subsides,
a golden light falls, we no longer have to hide.
